AMF (Autorité des Marchés Financiers)

The AMF (Autorité des Marchés Financiers) is an independent public organization with legal personality, responsible for regulating the financial markets in France. Its missions are to ensure the proper functioning of the French financial instruments markets, to protect investors and the savings invested in various investment vehicles (SICAV, FCP, equity, etc.), and to provide investors with accurate information.

The main competencies of the AMF: it regulates and controls all financial operations involving listed companies and ensures the smooth running of public offers. The AMF verifies that companies publish complete and quality information in a timely manner, delivered fairly to all stakeholders. It grants approval for collective investment schemes and verifies the information contained in the information document.

The AMF defines the principles of organization and operation of financial markets and their infrastructures. The AMF monitors the markets and the transactions taking place in them.

Finally, it establishes the rules of conduct and obligations that authorized professionals providing investment services must comply with, such as investment advice.
